Krisma

Krisma is een meisje dat student is op het Slukat. Krisma is 18 jaar oud en net afgestudeerd van de middelbare school. Voor Krisma zat het er nooit in dat ze door gaat leren. Bij dat feit heeft ze zich al lang geleden neergelegd. Haar familie kan een opleiding niet betalen en zelf wil ze hard gaan werken zodat ze de opleiding voor haar jongere broer en zus kan betalen. Ze werkt heel veel voor een 16-jarig meisje en krijgt slecht betaald. Als Krisma op een goede dag voor hotel Komune werkt krijgt ze amper €3. Het geld dat ze verdient gebruikt ze om haar scooter van te betalen, eten en de school van haar broer en zus. Het is niet makkelijk voor dit meisje en je ziet ook vaak dat ze niet gelukkig is. Ze is afgepeigerd en soms net iets te overdreven vrolijk. Wanneer ze denkt dat niemand kijkt is ze in zichzelf gekeerd en afwezig. En toch is Krisma altijd blijven dromen van die baan in het toerisme. Ook al weet ze dat het voor haar niet mogelijk zal zijn. Wat Krisma niet wist was dat Novi en Indira zich geroerd waren door dit verhaal en nu alles op alles zetten om Krisma te helpen. Wat ze hebben gedaan is een actie opgericht waarbij ze geld inzamelen voor de opleiding van Krisma. Novi en Indira gunnen Krisma al het goeds in de wereld maar geld blijft een probleem in dit land. Ook zij kunnen nauwelijks zelf rondkomen en kunnen daarom ook echt niet betalen voor de opleiding.

Ook ik ben geroerd door dit verhaal en wil Krisma helpen. Maar ook ik heb geen geld voor een studie. Wat ze nodig heeft is 15 miljoen roephia, dat staat gelijk aan 1000 euro. Ik zou daarom de mensen in Nederland willen vragen om Krisma te helpen haar droom waar te maken.

Ik weet dat jullie Krisma niet kennen maar ik kan jullie verzekeren dat het een allerliefst meisje is die gewoon een klein beetje hulp nodig heeft om te bereiken wat ze bereiken wil. Krisma zelf heeft ook een verhaal geschreven dat kan je hieronder lezen.

My name is Kadek Krismadani I am 18 years old. I am Balinese, live with my family; parents, grandmother, a younger brother  and sister,  in Keramas Village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar-Bali. My father works as a temple constructor worker, his income depend on the availability of the project. Every month, he doesn’t get stable income. Sometime his boss doesn’t get any construction project at all, that’s mean my father doesn’t get any income. My mom works at a home work for a sarong maker company as yarn spinner, her earning used to help for buying daily meal for our family. I know it is hard for my family to pay for me and my siblings education. Since in elementary school I work at neighbor house or any part time job I can take while studying to help me for buying the school supplies.  I am the oldest daughter in my family, as a girl in my community and culture it will be easier for me to find a job at the nearest minimarket from my house and then marry after finishing my high school. But that’s not the future I want for myself, I want to help my brother and sister for their higher education, and help my family to build our house to be more comfortable. If I have the chance, I want to see the world and visit my friends.  

Bali is really famous in the world as a tourist destination. I have a dream in the future. After graduated, I want to work as a manager in one of the big hotels in Bali. I realized English is a language that helps me to pursue my dream. So, I joined an English course at Slukat Learning Center, a non-profit organization that provide free English and Character Building Education. When I was in Junior high school, the staff at Slukat offered me a job as a cleaner, help them to clean the volunteers rooms who stay and teach English in the Learning Center.  From working here I can help my parents to pay for my own school fees, credit a motorbike for me to use it for working and school. Here at Slukat I learned English, character building and organization skills. Slukat helped me to develop my language skills and confidence. Here I also meet many volunteers from all over the world and until now we still maintain a good relationship and they become my new family.  I also work as a daily worker at local restaurant in my village, every time they need more workers, they will call me.

Recently I just graduated from high school. I wanted to continue my study to pursue bachelor degree in tourism management. But because I don’t have financial support, I decided for now I will continue a vocational school for one year then after finish I can work in tourism and help my parents to pay for my brother and sister education. The vocational training in tourism is still expensive for me even for only one year. I need at least 15 million rupiah to pay for the program fee. So here is via this gofund me, I would like to ask your help to help me fund my vocational training.
